What is a Capybara?
At Capybara Ventures we like companies who aspire to be category leaders...like our namesake, the world's largest rodent. We and our investors derive inspiration from this industrious and intelligent giant.
The capybara, Hydrochoerus Hydrochaeris, is a semi-aquatic rodent of South America. It weighs about a hundred pounds, and is about 2 feet tall at the shoulder.
Submit Your Idea
Capybara will evaluate investment opportunities meeting the following criteria:
- Based in Portland, OR or within 3 hours travel time
- Seeking seed or early-stage funding
- Targeting a growing market
- Unique or proprietary technology - please no biotech, consumer, or service-based businesses
- Ingredients for a sustainable competitive advantage
- Scalable operations & business model
- Several options for investor liquidity within 5-8 years, yielding a potential >10X investment return
To be considered for funding, please submit a business plan, executive summary, or presentation that includes, at minimum:
- Relevant biographical informational on key founders/executives
- The customer need or problem you will address
- An explanation of your market and what differentiates you from your competition
